About the CRSTS programme

The City Region Sustainable Transport Settlement (CRSTS) programme is aimed at providing a more integrated and inclusive transport network across West Yorkshire. The programme is made possible thanks to the West Yorkshire Mayoral devolution deal and is being delivered by the Combined Authority in partnership with Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds and Wakefield Councils.

The investment will ensure that as many people as possible have access to joined up travel and transport options, enabling you to live, work and play better across the region.

Three rounds of public funding have made the CRSTS programme possible:

The first round of funding consists of £830 million from the Department for Transport, and supports over 40 projects being delivered between 2022 and 2027.

SecondlyWest Yorkshire has received an indicative allocation from the Government for £2.1 billion in round two of the CRSTS funding stream to cover future sustainable transport projects being delivered between 2027 and 2032. More information on this funding will be available closer to the time.

Thirdly, three projects being delivered through the £41.2 million awarded to the Combined Authority under round two of the Government's Levelling Up Fund (LUF) in 2023 are listed belowThese projects will build on the significant investment already being made to make it easier for people to walk, cycle and use public transport around West Yorkshire.
