Data Controller When we collect your personal data, the West Yorkshire Combined Authority is what is known as the ‘data controller’. The Combined Authority is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office with registration number ZA051694.

As the data controller, we will:

· Only keep your data that we need for the purposes stated

· Keep your data safe and accurate

· Only keep your data as long as we have to

· Collect, store and use your data in a way which does not break any data protection laws


Why are we collecting this data? The Combined Authority is collecting this data and will process it for the purpose of understanding and identifying travel patterns, as well as how and why you make specific travel choices for education, work and leisure.


The survey requests some personal data, age category, partial postcode, your opinion, sex, gender, ethnicity and disability and the number of under 19s currently residing in the household. This demographic data will allow us to better understand the impacts of different customer travel patterns, as well as identify the reasons people make specific travel choices for education, work and leisure.


The survey platform will capture your IP address when you complete an online survey, however we will not use this data further.


The legal basis We will process your data under ‘public task’, which means it will help inform us in our duties to the public, in relation to transport planning, improving the services we deliver to you and economic regeneration of the region, which means to increase business growth, employment and skills development and others.


Who are we sharing this data with? The Combined Authority will not share your information with any other organisation or third party.


How long do we keep your data for?


Your response will be retained October 2024, after which, we will safely delete your information in accordance with our information retention policy.


What if I have any questions?
