The information and proposals from the engagement, which took place between 6 October and 2 November 2022.
Details of the public engagement:
We would like to know what you think of the recent improvements made at Leeds Bus Station. The improvements included:
Changes to the concourse to remove clutter, improve lighting, signage and generally make the environment more attractive
Accessibility improvements including new flooring with tactile guidance
New internal cladding to give the bus station a more modern and open feel
Enhanced passenger waiting and boarding facilities - new and re-aligned stand seating and replacement of bus stand automatic doors
Enhanced travel centre facilities which also includes self-service travel facilities and information (to be opened in October)
Improved accessible entrances via York Street and Dyer Street.
External works to make the building look more attractive including modern cladding to complement the architecture of the Victoria Quarter, plus a new ramp at the York Street entrance for accessibility.
A waiting room for bus drivers
Installation of a solar panel system, generating electricity to make the bus station more self-sufficient.

Next Steps
The improvements work at Leeds Bus Station was completed in September 2022. However, there are still some minor rectification works to complete over the next months, this includes the external digital advertising screens and information screens, the internal help point and the audio system on the smart timetables at the stands.
The feedback provided as part of this engagement will be taken into consideration for future improvements work subject to additional funding availability.

Public Engagement
During autumn 2019, a public engagement was held on the proposed Leeds Bus Station improvements as part of a wider package of improvements for Leeds City Centre that include the Corn Exchange area, Lower Briggate, Meadow Lane and York Street. All feedback received during the engagement was analysed and used to develop the scheme. The outcome report can be downloaded here.
Pre-Satisfaction Survey
In March 2021, we carried out a survey to assess current satisfaction at Leeds Bus Station. The outcome report can be download here. The purpose of carrying out surveys before and after improvement works is to accurately measure satisfaction levels and assess the benefits of the project.
