Who is this consultation for?
This survey will inform the development of a Vision Zero strategy in West Yorkshire. We want to hear your views on the key issues affecting you.
The West Yorkshire Combined Authority is being joined by key partners including West Yorkshire Police, local authorities, the Fire and Rescue Service and National Highways in working on and delivering the strategy.

What is the Safe System approach of Vision Zero?
The Safe System approach of Vision Zero has five pillars of action:
Each pillar works to support each other – when one fails, the rest should still prevent serious harm. We are currently working with partners including the five local authorities, National Highways, and the emergency services, to develop a whole-system strategy so we can reduce danger on our roads and increase progress towards Vision Zero.
What are the Fatal Five?
Investigations into collisions show that many fatalities could have been prevented and that there are five main contributory factors that cause serious road traffic collisions. These are known as the 'Fatal Five'.
The Fatal Five are:
Road users who commit one of the Fatal Five offences are far more likely to be involved in a fatal collision than those who do not.
