Share To follow up on my previous point, people won't simply abandon their cars, and this will lead to more time spent on buses and cycling. Closing side roads will create significant issues for residents, as it will increase traffic on roads that are already narrow, causing frustration for those living along these routes. on Facebook Share To follow up on my previous point, people won't simply abandon their cars, and this will lead to more time spent on buses and cycling. Share Will the line of cars stuck in a one way road not increase pollution with residential areas. Would pollution not decrease if cars were able to drive freely to get the their destination the quickest way possible? I strongly feel that this project doesn’t not take into consideration of the drivers and more so the convenience of those who don’t drive. on Facebook Share Will the line of cars stuck in a one way road not increase pollution with residential areas. Webinar July 31 asked 3 months agoAir Quality assessments are a key part of the business case at this stage and will be used to inform the current design proposals as well as any impacts (+ and -) to air quality on the area as a result of this scheme, indeed, reducing transport related emissions on this route is a key objective of this scheme. All the assessments will be important when considering the next stage of the designs.
Another key objective of this scheme is to support a more sustainable transport network and encourage modal shift from the private car, by providing safe routes for people to walk and cycle and better journey reliability for buses, this will enable people to have greater accessibility and more options to get where they need to go.

Share Are we doing what we think can improve or are we all looking at what needs improving. Yes we improve cycle lanes, improve landscapes and make bus lanes 24/7. This doesn’t do anything, what we need is a lockdown on double parking, improving road surfaces, looking at the streets and how they are currently being used. From an office this probably sounds amazing but from a resident this is just horrible. This will also cause traffic with roadworks which will hinder traffic that is already standstill on Facebook Share Are we doing what we think can improve or are we all looking at what needs improving. Webinar July 31 asked 3 months agoThank you for your comments:
As part of the proposals, it is necessary to address and resolve some of the parking issues in this area. Also it is proposed that new surfacing of the relevant roads will improve the surrounding network as well.
